Response #8: Mood vs. Tone
After reading and watching the short film on "The Black Cat" by Edgar Allan Poe I know that Poe thinks that in every human there's caring, enpathy, and kindness. But under all of that there's also hate, evilness, a madness inside of us and that's what Poe focuses on. The tone of "The Black Cat" is depressing but also confusing towards the end of the story. It appears to be like this because of how Poe had the main character lose his temper over the simplest things.

Response #7: Revenge Analysis
My thoughts about what revenge means is a plan or idea to get someone back for doing another person wrong. Revenge can be something evil or revenge it can be something done by success. Some examples of revenge is maybe your husband or love mate cheated on you, of course you would want to do something bad to them to make them feel as bad as you did in that situation. It can be something major like hurting them or it can be something as little as just karma or success.
Something common about revenge is usually about relationships. Once you've been cheated on, left or heart broken by that person its game on. This couple was together for 10 years and all of a sudden things started falling apart. The guy started going out with his "friends" a lot more often about the end of the ninth year. Then this guy started to go on "job trips." Once he got back the girlfriend unpacked his suitcase, and she found makeup all over his shirt. As soon as she saw that he was out the picture. He also had kids that he was supposed to come take care of, which he did for a while, then he just stopped. After that the girlfriend or shall I say ex-girlfriend just minded her own business with her kids and let karma handle all the work for her.
So now that I have told you about an example of a relationship that was a disaster you should kind of have an idea of what revenge is. Like I said there are many types of ways to have revenge on people. It could either be violent, karma wise, or something basic. It all depends on the type of mind set you have or how bad the other person did you wrong.

Response 6: Irony Analysis to Psycho
In the movie Psycho there is three different types of Irony that Alfred Hitchcock uses. Throughout the film Alfred uses Verbal, Situational, and Dramatic Irony purposely to get the audience uncomfortable and shocked. In a specific scene Alfred Hitchcock used Situational Irony. Its the scene where Sam distracts Norman while Lila goes to look inside Normans house for his mother. Norman starts to get anxious and suspicious so he walks to the parlor and looks outside the window and sees someone in his house. Norman hits Sam in the shoulder with a big can and then runs to his house. Lila sees him coming and hides in the downstairs cellar but under that cellar there's another cellar but for fruit. Norman goes up stairs and Lila thinks about leaving but sees a door and goes down to the fruit cellar where "Mother" is. Lila sees her and then taps her but its nothing but a preserved dead body. Next thing you know Norman comes and tries to stab Lila but Sam comes to the rescue and takes the knife away from him. But this whole time Norman wasn't Norman. There was two personalities in him his dead mom and Norman, but at that time Mother had completely took him over which is ironic.
Situational Irony has an effect on the audience. Situational irony is when something happens and you expected something completely different to happen. This type of irony has you talking to the movie screen. Like this audience did while watching this scene in the movie Psycho. This Situational scene had the audience anxious and terrified about whats going to happen next. This scene had me the audience jumping and sitting half way out of their chair with their eyes covered. After that scene the audience was just jaw dropped. No one new that Norman had a split personality and that there was no more Norman there was only Mother left.

Response #5: Film Analysis
The scariest movie that I've ever witnessed is The Whaley House. This was the most scariest movie to me because of the sounds. In every horror movie there's always many points in the movie that has a pop out scene. In that pop out scene most of the times there's a big sound affect that makes the audience get scared, and in this movie there's a lot. For example the characters all go into the basement to haunt down the ghost and the ghost tries to kill the main character and there is loud sound affects to make the viewers terrified.
Something else that scares me is how realistic the characters are. In the movies they creators make the characters look extra scary. They put make up on them and they put wigs, clothing, and many other types of objects that make them more scary.
In this movie when the pop ups happen or the sound affects happen the lights turn off or they shape angles to make the audience jump. For example in this movie the characters try to communicate with the ghost. They say "Knock once if your mad" then, the ghost would knock and the house would shake, the lights would turn off, and the characters faces will get closer to the camera to show there expressions.
I saw this movie at my house at noon with my mom and my brother. I'm not a big fan of scary movies so this is the scariest I've watched so far. The reason why I wanted to watch this movie is because its based on a real house in a tourist place called "Old Town." I also wanted to watch this movie because of the tailor I saw.

Response #4: Mood
Unfriended
One night there was 6 friends video chatting on Skype. Those six friends were Blaire, Adam, Mitch, Jess, Ken. While they were chatting some user named Billie227 entered the group chat. At first, these 6 friends thought it was just a Prank but then... Blaire was got a message notification on Facebook from her classmate Laura Barns that committed suicide exactly a year ago because of a video that went viral of her getting drunk and pooping on herself. Blaire asked everyone to raise there hands up so she can see if any of her friends were pranking her, but no one pranked her. She thought someone just hacked Laura's account but then crazy things started happening on the chat. Each and every friend was attacked.
All of the friends thought that a enemy named Val was the hacker because the was always being mean to them, so they invited her into the chat. They were chatting for a while and then Jess's Facebook page started blowing up with all of Val's pictures of her being drunk and high. But Jess wasn't posting them. Val started cussing her out and then told her to delete them all, then she left the group. They called the police to report the anonymous chatter. At that time Blaire recieved Val's Instagram which leaded her to Laura's video. Out of no where Val rejoined the group and she was sitting still in a room with a open bottle of bleach as if the computer was frozen. Then, her laptop falls and they hear the police arrive at Val's house and the friends overheard the police saying thaat Val committed suicide.
Adam gets the account of the anonymous user! but then his chat shuts down minutes later it reopens with him looking for something while a hidden camera was watching him. He went in the kitchen and some unknown force starts blending his arm, and slicing his throut with blades.
Billie227 (Laura) forces them all to play never have I ever after 2 of them were uliminated. If you lose the game you must die. Laura starts saying some of their darkest secrets, starting with Jess. She asked Jess if she started rumors about Blaire having an eating disorder. Then so on, Laura keeps asking all of them about the secrets and they all rotted each other out. Adam and Blaire receive papers from Laura. Blaire's said "if you reveal this note Adam will die." Mitch forced them to show the notes. Adam emediatly shot himself while showing the note he recived. His note said "if you reveal this note Blaire dies." But she didn't.
Laura wanted to know who didn't go to her grave. Blaire forced Jess not to answer so Laura did stuff. Laura turned off all the lights in Jess's house and Jess got scared and ran to her bathroom crying. Jess somehow disconnects from the chat then reconnects, showing a hot flat iron shoved down her throat.
The last two standing were Mitch and Blaire. Mitch and Blaire have been a couple for a while. They were also the last ones to play never have I ever. Laura continues to do her evil ways and asks Blaire something so bad about Mitch and Blaires relationship something so bad that Mitch had to reveal something too. What Mitch revealed made him die.
Blaire was the last one standing... Laura knew this whole time that Blaire was the one who uploaded the video when she was drunk. Laura also knew that Blaire didn't go to her grave and was lying about everything this whole time. Laura was just torturing all 6 friends because of what they did to her. Laura now started counting down with a timer on Blaires computer while playing slow and torturing music. She had 30 seconds to admit she did everything. At the last like 2 seconds she admited everything that she did, but of course Laura did not care at all. After the timer ran out everything was scilent and out of no where she heard the door creaking open. Then "Boom!" The everythings black and everyone is dead.

Response to Charecterization
After reading La Guera, Payasa, and Marin i noticed they have some things in common. Like their actions. All three of their actions are bad actions. All three of them also have common reactions in the story. Last but not least they also have their appearence which is what they have in common the most.
La Guera's actions are stealing minor items to bring her rainbows and Baba Sheep in the inside but on the outside she tries to act all tough on the outside. Like in the text when it says "I'm white on the outside but brown on the inside." from the donut she saw in the shop. Payasa's actions are taking drugs to get things off her mind. But when Payasa takes drugs or does drugs she has bad actions for example she takes dares by her friends. Payasa flashed her nipples and took off her pants and underwear in front of the whole park. For Marin her actions are basically being a prostitute. At night she sings and dances under the street lights for "work." Their appearances my in common too. La Guera's apperence is pink cheeks, white skin, and way too much make up, and her culture is White and Mexican. Payasa's appearanceis teased hair, short tight skirts, racoon style make up, and shes also Boisterous. Marin also wears short skirts, she has green eyes and shes also from Puerto Rico. Their actions are all based on their reactions. Which is their neighborhood and surroundings.I cant forget to include their feelings they all act like this beacuse they either dont have parents involved in their lifes or someone they loved left them.
But i do not think La Guera, Payasa, and Marin are archetypes. I dont think their archetypes because they have nothing that fits into just one catagorie. They're all their indivisual person. For example La Guera is a want to be Chola with all her make up and attitude. Payasa is a Drug addict with her drugs and flashing body parts. Marin is a prostitute with her short skirts and her dancing under street lights. All three main charecters may have something in common but their still not archetypes.
To all three of these stories there really isn't a happy ending. At the end something bad happens to them or they continue to do what they do. La Guera gets all her make up, gum, candies and etc. stolen for her enemy but that still does not bring her back to rainbows and Baba Sheep. In Payasa her brothers that were cholos would beat her to make her tought and slit her tounge with a razor everytime she lost a fight. So she has been in the hospital for cutting herself through all the pain shes been through. Then Marin continues tho be a prostitute beacuse her boyfriend she was going to have a future with left her. And the only reason he left her is because of the way she acted. These are all the reasons why these three girls have something in common but not everything, and being their own person with no Archetypes.

Narrative Structure "Alima"
A small girl with a Blue Beanie named Alima was strolling through a lonely town on a snowing cloudy day.
Alima walks and finds a wall with a lot of names carved on it. She wonders over there, looks around and writes Alima on the wall.
Alima turns around and sees a window with a doll on a stand that looks like her. She walks towards the window and the doll isn't on the stand anymore. So, Alima walks into the store and sees the doll on a table she also walks towards the table and the doll isn't there anymore.
Alima looks around the room and looks up and theres a book shelf with other dolls including the doll she saw. Alima reaches to touch it but she knows there's cameras.
*Footsteps*, Alima turns around and she's a brand new red headed doll in the window, Alima also sees a new name on the wall ....
To Be Continued.

My Pledge
As a Freshman I pledge to succeed in Lincoln High School. I also want to maintain my grades to at least a 3.60 and higher. My goal throughout my time in Lincoln High School is to try my best and achieve a 4.0. I have to try my best in a subject that always brought me down. Which was English.
Sincerely,
Trajanae Diggs
I also plan to succeed in AVID (Advances Via Individual Determination). Plus I want to do as many volunteer hours as I could throughout High School for college. Another pledge I have is to make it to college and graduate from SDSU.
Also I'd like to help the community in as many ways as I can, even if it's just small clean ups. This school is not bad but this neighborhood is violent. There's a lot of problems and etc. but i shall do anything I can to help this neighborhood.
At the end of the day I achieve my Pledge.
